Kimal has announced that it is set to act as the UK distributor for a new titanium implant product from Vital Access.

The Venous Window Needle Guide (VWNG) has received European CE Mark approval and is placed on top of the vessel used to facilitate formation and access to arteriovenous fistula for long-term dialysis patients.

Providing easy, reliable access, it can be used to aid the use of buttonhole cannulation and is designed to solve some of the remaining weaknesses of arteriovenous fistula treatments, including access complications and infections.

Other advantages of the new product include its ability to expand the cannulatable portion of a fistula where only a short segment is accessible and the dependable and quick access it offers to veins that are difficult to cannulate due to depth, size or palpability.

Kimal was recently presented with a customer service award at the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2012, in recognition of the quality of the Patient Scheduled Managed Service the company provides to Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust.
