GE Healthcare launches new interventional cardiology system

Medical Company Product News

GE Healthcare has announced the launch of the Innova 2100-IQ Optima Edition interventional cardiology (IC) system.

The Optima 2100-IQ device has been introduced in response to the growing demand for basic IC procedures and is designed to offer a lower-cost but clinically effective new option for medical professionals.

It has been optimised to offer high levels of efficiency and uptime, with streamlined and easy-to-use processes, while maintaining image quality standards and dose efficiency.

The device can be used in applications such as fluoro acquisitions, vascular road-mapping and stenosis and left ventricle analysis.

Edward Wong, general manager for interventional medicine at GE Healthcare, said: "The Optima Edition offers the quality and reliability from the Innova product and also focuses on delivering an effective solution to the standard interventional cardiology procedures that many have asked for."

Earlier this month, the company announced the appointment of Thomas Gentile and Mike Swinford to important new roles in its executive leadership team.
