Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has been selected by Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) to deliver long-term managed pathology services at the medical hub.
The contract includes the use of Siemens' ADVIA LabCell systems for biochemistry and haematology and will see the firm work to help the hospital's biochemistry department benefit from shorter turnaround times, improved patient care and increased cost efficiency and workflow.
As well as offering its ADVIA technology, Siemens also ensured that ARI staff received in-house training and post-implementation LEAN training.
According to Jim Allison, a consultant clinical scientist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, the new system's "sheer analytical power helps us cope with the unexpected events, such as staff vacancies and unscheduled maintenance or breakdowns, enabling us to recover from these events much more quickly".
In July, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics announced that it would be the exclusive sponsor of a webinar entitled Weathering the Storm: Surviving and Succeeding in Today's Economy.See all the latest jobs in Science
