Pharmaceutical Company Restructures

Lilly has announced that its senior vice-president of human resources, Dr Anthony Murphy, will retire from his position in April.

He first joined the firm in 1980 as a personnel representative in Basingstoke and was appointed to his current position in June 2005.

In his 28 years with the company, he has held a number of prominent titles, including the executive director of HR for Europe.

Chairman, president and chief executive officer of Lilly Dr John Lechleiter explained Dr Murphy's work has helped transform the company.

"He ? has been a champion of serving patients, helping employees across components and job levels draw a line of sight from their work to the people who depend on our medicines."

Dr Lechleiter concluded by thanking the senior-vice president of human resources for his loyalty and dedication to the firm.

The process to name Dr Murphy's successor is currently underway and will be named in the near future.

Established in 1876, Lilly is now the tenth largest pharmaceutical company in the world.
