Laura had been trying to start a career in Scientific Sales since graduating in 2017, but was not having much luck. But after a chat with Nick from our Scientific team her luck was able to change and she has been going from strength to strength for the past year in her new role.... 

What were you looking for when you were seeking a new role?

"At the time when I applied for a position with Neogen I had a temporary role as assistant manager within Ofgem. I’d been looking to start a career in sales since my graduation in 2017. I had no luck until I was approached by Nick Walker from Zenopa with the Inside Sales Representative position within Neogen. Getting into scientific sales industry was a lifelong career goal which I was determined to get."

What benefits have you had since securing your role?

"Since starting my role at Neogen I have grown on a personal and professional level. My confidence has grown, and I’m not afraid to step out of my comfort zone. I truly enjoy what I do every day. My goal was to have a successful career and I could not be happier with my job.

In less than a year since I started my role, I have achieved more career goals than I thought was possible. I have won sales person of the year – director’s choice award, and exceeded my annual target. I have also been offered a field sales representative position, which I officially start on the 1^st of August.

On the financial aspect, having a full time sales role has really helped with being able to afford holidays, weekends away and has given me the ability to have a puppy."

How did you find the recruitment process?

"Recruitment was easy, quick and the role was offered to me on the same day as my final interview. Nick Walker was really helpful with preparation and gave me lots of great tips.

How has your work/life balance improved?

"Due to the everyday commute, my work/life balance hasn’t improved. However, despite this I am more happy and satisfied with my life since my starting my career."
